Emma Johnson and Friends | With Special Guest John Suchet
United Reformed Church, Shrewsbury + Family Concert at 2.00pm -see below
Experience Vienna in its exciting heyday with classic music of the era played by celebrity clarinettist Emma Johnson and her friends, highlighted by fascinating insights from writer and radio personality John Suchet. The music is interspersed with readings about key historical moments as well as fascinating biographical details of the composers.
Vienna in the 19th century was an extraordinary city, a hotbed of musical creativity that nurtured world-renowned composers, but hidden under the apparently harmless mania for wine, women and song were germinating the seeds of social discontent that would trigger the First World War.
