At Shropshire Music Trust (SMT) we are committed to safeguarding and preserving the privacy of our customers. This Privacy Policy explains what happens to any personal data that you provide to us, or that we may collect from you whilst you visit our site.

The Five Principles

1. SMT commits to provide clear, honest and open information to customers about how we use their data.

In running and maintaining our mailing list we may collect and process the following data about you:

1. Your name, email address, postal address and telephone number.
2. Information provided voluntarily by you, for example when you register for information.
3. Information that you provide when you communicate with us by any means.

Use of your Information

We use the information that we collect from you to provide our services to you. In addition to this we may use the information for one or more of the following purposes:

1. To inform you of changes to our website and marketing, future events, products and services.
2. To provide information to you that you request from us relating to our services.
3. To provide information to you relating to other products that may be of interest to you which might include information on fundraising events or other activity. Such additional information will only be provided where you have consented to receive such information.

Storing Your Personal Data

All data within SMT’s systems are stored securely and we have a range of internal policies and procedures regarding the security of data.

Unfortunately the sending of information via the Internet is not totally secure and on occasion such information can be intercepted. We cannot guarantee the security of data that you choose to send us electronically. Sending such information is entirely at your own risk.

Personal data is reviewed biannually and then items no longer required to be kept are shredded, incinerated or deleted.

Disclosing Your Information

We will not disclose your personal information to any other party other than in accordance with this Privacy Policy and in the circumstances detailed below:

1. Where we are legally required by law to disclose your personal information.
2. To further fraud protection and reduce the risk of fraud.

NB: we may occasionally send you information by email about events organised by other local organisations, but we do not rent or sell your details to any third parties.

COOKIES

Shropshire Music Trust does not currently use any analytic accounts on its website. There may be what are called temporary 'session cookies' which are cleared from your computer when you close your browser. These manage the 'back' and 'forward' functions of your browser so that it knows to which page you're going back or forward.
